A sketch from a photograph taken by my bird-watcher dad of a Robin nest in a Cycad tree in their garden. Photos were taken of the unhatched eggs, and then in intervals up to the final chick leaving its nest. I’ve been wanting to draw these young chicks for quite a while as they tell their own story but never would have imagined they would end up done in this size and with pastels on such a rough base.
