About The Artist

Urna van Heyningen

Urna has been living in Stellenbosch with her family since moving there in 2009. With a background in Architecture, communicating concepts and ideas through text and graphics in a wide variety of media and techniques is a way through which she finds expression. The fowls of the air and the lilies of the field is especially celebrated in her art as a personal reminder. When she illustrates the tiny subjects in an exaggerated scale, the representation of intricate details is like a big visual feast that can be indulged in without any remorse. Often disregarded subjects are now given a Voice and may loudly exclaim: “LOOK and SEE!”
